Fulfillment can be found in service to others. This is a lesson I learned at a very early age from my Grandma Nellie. She raised 12 kids on a farm in Kansas where there wasn't even any electricity or washing machines or modern conveniences. There was only love and unfailing committment.
This page introduces some of the volunteer organizations I have been involved with down through the years.
The Center for Independent Living supports disabled people in their efforts for independence. For many years I volunteered as a reader for blind students through CIL.
When I got my First Class FCC License I volunteered and worked in the Engineering Department at Radio Station KPFA in Berkeley.
The Omega Boys Club in San Francisco works with kids in the Juvenile Justice system with the goal of sponoring them in college. I volunteered with them for 7 years.
I incorporated a fundraising conduit for Christina Noble in Vietnam named the Christina Noble Fundation of America. We raised funds to support Christina's work with the street kids in Vietnam. I served as it's President for 6 years.
I have been a Foster Parent and a mentor to kids for many years now.
