Note: This poem is written in a style which is a variation
on the "pantoum" a lyrical style that originated in Malaya.
In a pantoum lines get repeated in subsequent verses. In
this poem, in particular, lines 2 and 4 of each verse are
echoed in the subsequent verse with the final verse
referencing the first (forming a circle)
Some assembly is required, you might say.
A life is not a simple thing to build.
Fine tune your moral compass right away,
Don't freely let your dreams go unfulfilled.
A life is not a simple thing to build.
So learn that love that loves to learn each day.
Don't freely let your dreams go unfulfilled,
Don't quit when obstacles get in your way.
So learn that love that loves to learn each day.
And learn to give your heart and lend your hand.
Don't quit when obstacles get in your way,
Don't ever be afraid to take a stand.
And learn to give your heart and lend your hand.
Remember to choose love instead of hate,
Don't ever be afraid to take a stand.
Be proud when it is time to meet your fate.
Remember to choose love instead of hate,
Some assembly is required, you might say.
Be proud when it is time to meet your fate,
Fine tune your moral compass right away.
